Dolly Steamboat

Clint and I have decided we would like to take advantage of Arizona and do some things we've never done before. This is what led us to the Dolly Steamboat. We went on a nature cruise aboard the Dolly Steamboat. It takes you on a tour around Canyon Lake, which is a small lake about 1.5 hours East of where we live. With our brand new binoculars in hand (bought just for this trip - Clint thought I was crazy), we boarded old dolly ready for an exciting 90 minutes of sight seeing. We saw a bald eagle and a big horn sheep. We feel much closer and connected with our desert landscape now.

Halloween

Clint and I weren't planning on dressing up for Halloween this year, but decided to go to my work costume party at the last minute. We didn't have time to get costumes so we dressed up the same as last year - corpse bride and groom. It's an Anderson classic. Below is a picture of me and some of my fellow Speech Pathologists.

Rho Chi

These were pictures from Clint's initiation into the Rho Chi society, which means he is part of the top 15% in his pharmacy class. Congrats Clint, I'm very proud of you!

California

I always like to have a vacation to look forward to. After our return from Cabo I was disappointed that we didn't have a vacation planned until Christmas. So, I planned a weekend getaway to California in October. Clint and I have talked about going to Six flags and I figured why not do it now?

We drove out on a Thursday afternoon after work, hit Six flags in Valencia on Friday, then drove down to Newport Beach for the remainder of the weekend. It was a great weekend. I didn't realize how little time Clint and I get to spend together when we're here in Arizona. It was wonderful to get to spend an entire weekend together without any responsibilities.

We hit Six Flags at the perfect time. There was hardly anyone there this time of year and we walked right on to all the rides. It is also 1/4 of the price of Disneyland.

Oh, and thanks to the Dockendorf family for meeting us for dinner. It was so fun to see you guys again. Sorry we kept your little ones up past their bedtime.

First car! We got to go in the front of all the roller coasters, it was so fun. We may have gotten in trouble for taking this picture, but I wasn't about to delete it. We went on this coaster twice and I heard Clint say "Everything is going dark" just as things were going very dark for me to. It was very strange. The blackness started in my peripheral vision and started going to the middle until I couldn't see anymore. Of course, we had to go on the roller coaster again and the same thing happened to both of us again in the same spot. Fun huh?

If our eyes looks a little glazed over, it's because we probably gave ourselves concussions. We both had horrible headaches after the first 5 rollercoasters, but did that stop us. . . NO. At least not Clint. I had to sit out a couple because I couldn't walk straight. So far, I haven't noticed any lasting cognitive damage, so I think the mental blurriness was just temporary. We didn't hit the log ride until the end of the day. I was hoping to not get too wet. It was a little kid ride, it can't be that bad, right? Wrong. We got soaked and I was freezing the remainder of the evening, but it was definitely worth it. Luckily we left not too much longer after.
Our nature walk. Please note the person doing Yoga or Tai Chi. Not quite sure what he was doing. We passed by very quietly so we wouldn't disturb him.

Happy Birthday Clint

Clint hit the big 2 - 7 this year. He has been asking for an Xbox for an entire year now and I finally gave in. I knew I couldn't drag it out until Christmas, I was lucky to make it to his birthday. Clint plays Xbox with his pharmacy school buddies during their school lunch breaks, so he thought he needed one to keep up on his gaming skills. Little did he know what a gamer I am. I unfortunately have logged more hours on the Xbox than he has.

Anyway, Happy Birthday Clint!
