These were pictures from Clint's initiation into the Rho Chi society, which means he is part of the top 15% in his pharmacy class. Congrats Clint, I'm very proud of you!

California
I always like to have a vacation to look forward to. After our return from Cabo I was disappointed that we didn't have a vacation planned until Christmas. So, I planned a weekend getaway to California in October. Clint and I have talked about going to Six flags and I figured why not do it now?
We drove out on a Thursday afternoon after work, hit Six flags in Valencia on Friday, then drove down to Newport Beach for the remainder of the weekend. It was a great weekend. I didn't realize how little time Clint and I get to spend together when we're here in Arizona. It was wonderful to get to spend an entire weekend together without any responsibilities.
We hit Six Flags at the perfect time. There was hardly anyone there this time of year and we walked right on to all the rides. It is also 1/4 of the price of Disneyland.
Oh, and thanks to the Dockendorf family for meeting us for dinner. It was so fun to see you guys again. Sorry we kept your little ones up past their bedtime.

First car! We got to go in the front of all the roller coasters, it was so fun. We may have gotten in trouble for taking this picture, but I wasn't about to delete it. We went on this coaster twice and I heard Clint say "Everything is going dark" just as things were going very dark for me to. It was very strange. The blackness started in my peripheral vision and started going to the middle until I couldn't see anymore. Of course, we had to go on the roller coaster again and the same thing happened to both of us again in the same spot. Fun huh?
If our eyes looks a little glazed over, it's because we probably gave ourselves concussions. We both had horrible headaches after the first 5 rollercoasters, but did that stop us. . . NO. At least not Clint. I had to sit out a couple because I couldn't walk straight. So far, I haven't noticed any lasting cognitive damage, so I think the mental blurriness was just temporary.
We didn't hit the log ride until the end of the day. I was hoping to not get too wet. It was a little kid ride, it can't be that bad, right? Wrong. We got soaked and I was freezing the remainder of the evening, but it was definitely worth it. Luckily we left not too much longer after.
Our nature walk. Please note the person doing Yoga or Tai Chi. Not quite sure what he was doing. We passed by very quietly so we wouldn't disturb him.

Happy Birthday Clint
Clint hit the big 2 - 7 this year. He has been asking for an Xbox for an entire year now and I finally gave in. I knew I couldn't drag it out until Christmas, I was lucky to make it to his birthday. Clint plays Xbox with his pharmacy school buddies during their school lunch breaks, so he thought he needed one to keep up on his gaming skills. Little did he know what a gamer I am. I unfortunately have logged more hours on the Xbox than he has.
Anyway, Happy Birthday Clint!

Cabo
Lake Powell
So, since we haven't blogged for so long, I'm going to post pictures, but not a ton of descriptions. Clint is officially done with his first year of Pharmacy school. He has two internships this summer (one of which is over) and he had a one month break. Luckily, our families were nice enough to schedule their vacations so we could come too. We went to Lake Powell with the Anderson family at the end of June then a week later we went to Cabo with the Baxter family.
We went boating for a couple days and hiked while we were down at Lake Powell. Here are some of the pictures from our adventures.

Me and Clint with our new sunburns. I don't know what happened with Clint's sunscreen, but he had white patches all over his arms and shoulders. This is us looking sad about the skin cancer we're going to have from our burns in about 40 years. My burn wasn't nearly as bad as Clint's

Our First Anniversary with Katie and Jesse
My sister Katie and her husband Jesse were able to come down to Arizona for a quick weekend away from their home in Colorado. Our anniversaries are both within a couple days so we got to celebrate with them. It was also the weekend that we moved to our new apartment so they were kind enough to help us paint, move, and organize. Thanks for the help Kate and Jess!
As you can see our first anniversaray was very romantic! Moving wasn't quite what I had in mind, but we didn't have many other options. I was happy that Katie and Jesse were here to share our Costco cake. I had wanted one for a long time and was waiting to buy one. Don't worry, we did give some of it away.

Here are Clint and Jesse painting. Clint and I did the primer coats and then Katie and Jess helped us with the red. We didn't realize how many coats it takes to do a red wall. It took forever

Our First Apartment
Here are some pictures of our last apartment. We were there for a year before we moved to our new place. We loved this apartment, but we just needed a little bit more space and Amy loved the layout of the new apartment. We would have moved there from the start, but there weren't any openings when we wanted to first move in.

We didn't have a kitchen table for several months, and our bed actually used to be in this place until we got a bed frame. This little dining room was one of the coolest places in the house so we slept there for about a month when we first moved in.

Our bedroom never got decorated in the year that we lived there, and our new one still isn't. I've gotten sick of decorating, so it may never get done. And yes, it does look like we have a floating bed - that's one of the only storage spots we had.
I had to include this picture because Clint and I put that dresser thing/set of boxes together all by ourselves. We were very proud of our accomplishment.
