San Francisco

Clint and I went to San Francisco for Valentines Day. I had a voice conference at UCSF the Thursday and Friday before Valentines Day, so we decided to make a vacation of it. We had a great time aside from the weather. We've been so spoiled with the winter weather in Arizona. It was kind of a shock to have it raining and windy again. The first two days were spent at the conference for me and I stayed at the hotel that was closest to the school. The hotel was in Japan town, and it felt like I had entered into a Japanese video game. I was pretty amused, but the staff was great and it was fun to explore Japan town while we were there. After my conference we switched to a hotel in Union Square where all the tourists are. It was fun being downtown. there were so many good restaurants and our hotel was right next to a cable car stop so we were able to get everywhere we needed easily.

We did most of the typical sight seeing while we were there. We took a cable car (in the rain) to China town, visited Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge (from a distance), Pier 39 and the seals, Lombard Street, and Union Square.

This was the hotel in Japan Town where I thought I had just walked into a video game. Below is the mural that was on the wall in the hotel room. Note the creepy person staring down at you while you sleep - I didn't like that so much. Interesting decor, but the hotel was bad overall at least for what we paid.

It wasn't raining on Saturday - Thank goodness! This was our cable car ride out to fishermans wharf

Our attempt to get the seals in our picture - almost had them. It was too cold to keep trying.

Align CenterClint with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. We were approximately another 45 min. walk away from the bridge at this point. I was unfortunately sick for the entire trip and was not walking another 45 min. just to turn around and walk back. Luckily Clint let me go back to the hotel and have a nap so that I could be happy for dinner that night. I was a little upset that the only time I've been sick all winter was of course on our vacation, but what can you do.

San Francisco?! Lucky! You guys look like you had a great time, too bad you were sick :( If that weather was horrible for you after Arizon, what will you feel like when you come back to Utah? Not something to look forward to...at least weatherwise. But you would get to see us ;)

Wa ha ha, I beat you to the punch updating with Cabo pics. You'd think you're actually working at a grown up job or something. :)

Can you e-mail me the lovely Cabo pics you have from our dinner at La Golindrina? I want to post our gluttony on the blog.

Hope all is well.
